Abstract
Impact of Ultrasound in MSK Pain Intervention

In this lecture, the speaker will discuss the different ways how ultrasound contributes to the clinical care in patient with MSK and nerve pathology.

Ultrasound allows an affordable, easily accessible means of imaging without radiation and excels in visualization of soft tissues and nerves, making it a popular modality to assist in pain intervention.

In nerve pain management, the uses of ultrasound contribute to the following areas: ensure the accuracy and safety of the procedure, allows diagnosis of nerve pathology or entrapment, revitalizes the use of peripheral nerve stimulator, permits safe us of perineural or intraneural chemical ablation, enables the use of non-surgical nerve decompression and facilitates the hydrodissection procedure.

In MSK pain management, ultrasound aids in the diagnosis of the source of MSK pain, improves the accruacy, safety and outcome of MSK intervention and enables specific ultrasound-guided procedure.
