Dr Lau graduated from University of Hong Kong. After she obtained her fellowship in anaesthesiology, Dr. Lau has subspecialised in cardiac anaesthesia in the Department of Cardiothoracic Anaesthesia, Queen Mary Hospital. She also received further training in paediatric cardiac anaesthesia at Royal Children's Hospital in Australia. She is now consultant anaesthesiologist of Hong Kong Children’s Hospital. Her special interests include paediatric cardiac anaesthesia, massive transfusion and ultrasound guided vascular assess.
40% congenital heart patient who has cardiac operation in the first year of life will have at least one non cardiac operation within 5 years. The speaker will focus on the pre operative risk assessment of the congential heart patient and the management of specific high risk patient during non cardiac operation.
