Dr David Kan

David's primary area of practice is clinical negligence claims. He advises a wide range of health care professionals, including doctors, dentists, physiotherapists, midwives and nurses. His clients also include insurance companies, pharmaceuticals and biotechnology companies, medical device manufacturers, hospitals, specialist group practices and other corporate health care providers.

He has experience in handling Coroner's Inquests, disciplinary and criminal proceedings, investigations commenced by the ICAC and Privacy Commissioners, product liability claims and other health care regulatory matters.

He also has a special interest in providing advice in ethical issues such as consent and euthanasia, as well as an interest in mental health law.

David is an advocate of Alternative Dispute Resolution and is an accredited Mediator of the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre. Before qualifying as a lawyer, David practiced medicine for five years in the UK. He was recently appointed an Associate Professor by the University of Hong Kong School of Medicine.
