  • Professor Colin Royse, MBBS, MD, FANZCA is a professor of anaesthesia at The University of Melbourne and a cardiac anaesthetist at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. As a clinician scientist, he works in clinical practice as well as his teaching and research commitments to the University. In the teaching space he is well known for the Postgraduate Certificate and Diploma of Clinical Ultrasound which are distance based education programs for echocardiography and clinical ultrasound. His research interests are diverse, but include the impact of echocardiography in clinical practice, cardiac surgery outcomes, anaesthetic pharmacology and quality of recovery after surgery and anaesthesia. He is the Chair of the Postoperative Quality of Recovery Scientific Committee (PQRS).
