Dr Michael Swart

Dr Michael Swart is a Consultant in Anaesthesia and Critical Care at Torbay Hospital, Torquay, Devon. Over the last eleven years he has developed an interest in the identification of high risk surgical patients through clinical evaluation and the use of Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing. In addition over the last five years he has been involved in the development of Enhanced Recovery Pathways for colorectal and orthopaedic surgery. He is a Clinical Advisor in Anaesthesia to the Department of Health on the Enhanced Recovery Programme.
