Dr Andy Lumb

Dr Lumb is currently Consultant Anaesthetist in Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, and Senior Clinical Lecturer, University of Leeds, United Kingdom. His training in anaesthesia was in a variety of London hospitals, before returning to his native Yorkshire for a consultant post. He has provided anaesthesia for vascular surgery in a major teaching hospital for 16 years, including establishing pre-assessment service and developing new methods for auditing outcomes. Dr Lumb’s unit has been involved in many developments in vascular surgery such as the EVAR and GALA trials. Dr Lumb has been an elected member of the Vascular Anaesthesia Society of Great Britain and Ireland (VASGBI) committee since 2005, including as chair of the VASGBI education committee. His other professional interests include medical education and respiratory physiology and their application to anaesthetic practice.
